Pantera Tribute

Lyrics

I originally wrote this song for Vinnie Paul from Pantera honoring his brother, then Vinny Paul sadly passed away in 2018 and was never published. So, this song was re-written in 2025 for both of them!

"Life after Death"

In the shadow of the spotlight, he played his last show
A star that burned too bright, too fast to ever slow
In the silence of that night, his voice still echoes on
A legend never truly dies, even when he’s gone

Through his words and music, he will never fade
In the hearts of the fans, his spirit will always live on

Life after death, through the music he speaks
In every note, every chord, the power he seeks
A rock star’s soul, taken with his last breath
He’s living on, in life after death

(Life after death)
(I can still hear the words)

The tragedy struck hard, the pain cannot be healed
But in the wake of sorrow, his legacy was sealed
Through the drums and the strings, his story’s told
In the anthems of our youth, the memories are gold

Through his words and music, he will never fade
In the hearts of the fans, his spirit will always live on

Life after death, through the music he speaks
In every note, every chord, the power he seeks
A rock star’s soul, taken with his last breath
He’s living on, in life after death

(I can still hear the words)

[Melodic breakdown with emotional guitar solo]
We still hear him loud and clear
He is in my heart, spirit forever near
In the halls of rock, his name is crowned
We will always hear the echoes of his sound

Life after death, through the music he speaks
In every note, every chord, the power he seeks
A rock star’s soul, taken with his last breath
He’s living on, in life after death

Metal still worships, his eternal fame
In the hearts of millions, we remember his name
Life after death, the music lives on
As long as the music plays, you will never die

(Life after death)
(I can still hear the words)
(Life after death)
